Not so many years ago computers were expensive slow and barely capable of a simple document

Now, even the smallest of home devices are capable of quite powerful operations

Harnessing this power with an extremely large developer base , software is now available through the Open Source channel that allows a person to literally create their dreams and ideas.

All one needs is a sketch, from the sketch,copies can be taken, or 3d meshes made then analysed or even printed out at a reasonable price.

I have many years experience with Motorcycles and their fabrication and repair.  I use only Open source negating the expensive licensing fee, thus  driving down costs.

We can colaborate in real time using Google Wave.  Concepts can be tested before productiion using  OpenFoam , ( CFD), Calculix ( FEA) and Elmer ( heat transfer).  When satisfied, a prototype can be quickly made using Rapid prototyping technology , and finally, the completed product.
